ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

With a large number of partnership schools, we are able to offer a strong network of trainee teachers and NQTs as well as strong training opportunities for our colleagues. Recruitment on the School Direct Teacher Training programme with TeachSLOUGH is highly competitive. Therefore, the recruitment process for School Direct is deliberately challenging and thorough to filter the very best applicants for our Borough.

Please also note that at least 5 days’ experience in a school-setting would be required prior to interview to allow you to talk about your desire to teach in an informed way. SALARIED SCHOOL DIRECT:

You will need:

- at least a C grade in GCSE English and Maths (and Science for Primary courses)

- at least a 2:1 in a BA (HONS) degree in your subject specialism

- to have been in full-time employment (in any profession) for at least 3 years prior to applying

to be eligible for the SALARIED route.

*The salary for a School Direct trainee is £17,542. This is based on the Unqualified Teacher pay scale. Slough is classified as London Fringe. For more information about teaching salaries after you qualify, please click on the button below.

UNSALARIED SCHOOL DIRECT:

You will need:

- at least a C grade in GCSE English and Maths (and Science for Primary courses)

- at least a 2:2 in a BA (HONS) degree in your subject specialism

to be eligible for the UNSALARIED route.

*Tuition fees (QTS) for 2021-2022 unsalaried trainees are £7,710.*
