ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
TeachSLOUGH is committed to recruiting the most innovative and inspiring trainee teachers in both the primary and secondary sectors.
With a large number of partnership schools, we are able to offer a strong network of trainee teachers and NQTs as well as strong training opportunities for our colleagues. Recruitment on the School Direct Teacher Training programme with TeachSLOUGH is highly competitive. Therefore, the recruitment process for School Direct is deliberately challenging and thorough to filter the very best applicants for our Borough.
Please refer to the table below for our strict entry requirements for each subject. Please also note that at least 5 days’ experience in a school-setting would be required prior to interview to allow you to talk about your desire to teach in an informed way. UNSALARIED option requirements:
You will need:
- at least a C grade in GCSE English and Maths (and Science for Primary courses)
- at least a 2:2 in a BA (HONS) degree in your subject specialism
to be eligible for the UNSALARIED route.
*Tuition fees (QTS) for 2024-2025 unsalaried route are:
Fees
Postgraduate Certificate in Education (QTS): Home fees are £9250, International fees are £22350 (this is the PGCE)
Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (QTS): Home fees £7710 (we don’t have international applicants to QTS-only)
